Lukashenko instructs to tackle problems at Amkodor

ORSHA DISTRICT, 21 April (BelTA) – We should not only resolve the ownership issue at Amkodor, but also settle its debts as the owner left the enterprise in a challenging situation, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he is visiting Vitebsk Oblast on 21 April, BelTA has learned.

"We need not only to address the ownership issue at Amkodor, but also pay off its debts," the president said, emphasizing that the enterprise is in a difficult situation due to the owner's actions.

The head of state asked Forestry Minister Aleksandr Kulik whether this enterprise holds significant importance for the forestry system.
The minister responded affirmatively and agreed that the development of Belarusian logging and woodworking industries is impossible without multi-operational equipment produced by domestic manufacturers, including Amkodor.
The president inquired about the level of localization of Amkodor’s equipment production and clarified how it could be improved. It was noted that the forwarders produced by Amkodor are reliable machines capable of serving for eight years.

"But keep in mind that after eight years, you won't write them off: you will need to restore them," the president stressed.
