Lukashenko instructs to protect border with NATO member states – Poland, Lithuania

MINSK, 24 February (BelTA) – Our top priority is to protect the state border with NATO member states – Poland and Lithuania, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at an operational meeting with the military in Minsk on 24 February, BelTA has learned.

"Our task now is to protect the state border of Belarus with NATO - Poland and Lithuania. The task has been set. So that you could see everything, so that we would not let through a single tank, a single soldier. We must see everything that is happening there, in Poland,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.

According to him, the Polish leadership can use the current situation for its own advantage: "They will capitalize on this conflict to boost the ratings of PiS [the ruling Law and Justice party in Poland] and Duda that has gone mad as this party is very unpopular now. This conflict comes in handy for them.”
