
MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) - The profession to defend the Motherland will remain in demand for a long time, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a ceremony to present state awards and shoulder straps to senior officers at the Palace of Independence on 20 February, BelTA has learned.
“The profession to defend the Motherland will be in demand for a long time. People in uniform will continue to be a reliable shield and the main guardians of peaceful labor in the country,” the head of state said.
The president believes that the country’s defense framework should be significantly improved.
Aleksandr Lukashenko pointed out that Belarus intends to continue developing comprehensive cooperation primarily with its allies in the CSTO and fraternal Russia.
