MINSK, 20 June (BelTA) — Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk suggested revising the criteria for the selection of cooperation projects in the EAEU as he spoke at the panel discussion “Synergy in the EAEU’s Real Sector: Responding to Today’s Challenges” at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, BelTA has learned.
According to the Russian deputy prime minister, it is worth paying attention to the revision of the criteria for the selection of cooperation projects in the EAEU so that they are aimed primarily at the development of high technologies. “Artificial intelligence is on everyone’s radar. It grows out of big data, which in turn grows out of user data. It is necessary to develop joint digital platforms to build up a user database that will help create more advanced artificial intelligence. We probably don't talk much about that. It is necessary to pay closer attention to this issue, to study it. Then the Union State will be better prepared to respond to the technological challenges that exist in our modern world.” he said.
A cooperation project on railway engineering is currently implemented in the EAEU. “This is an important high-tech project. Advanced technologies will further strengthen the connectivity of our economies. It would be great to have more such projects,” Alexey Overchuk said.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is a leading platform for discussing existing challenges in the global economy and mechanisms for overcoming them, ensuring sustainable development. Every year it gathers a wide range of business community and experts to establish cooperation relations, exchange the best world practices and competencies. This year’s edition features representatives of 140 countries.
