MINSK, 29 August (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has expressed condolences to the family and friends of People’s Artist of the USSR Rodion Shchedrin over his passing, the press service of the head of state BelTA.
“A legendary composer has passed away. His outstanding works have captivated audiences for decades with their depth and power of sound,” the message of condolence reads. “In Belarus, Rodion Konstantinovich [Shchedrin] will be remembered as a great master whose creative legacy has become a treasure of the world’s musical culture. The blessed memory of him will always live in our hearts.”
