Lukashenko explains what scenarios are disastrous for EU and for US

MOSCOW, 14 March (BelTA) – During his sit-down with TV presenter Olga Skabeyeva for the Rossiya 1 TV channel, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko commented on the statement made the day before that if Russia and the US reach an agreement,  Europe will be done for, BelTA reports.

“I said that if Russia and the US strike a deal without Europe, it will be a disaster for Europe, provided the US administration sticks to the position it has today. And they have grounds for this,” the Belarusian leader said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that politicians in the European Union interfered in the US presidential election process and 'were lambasting Trump'. “They all, the Poles, the Germans, the French, the British and others supported Biden. Okay, you can support him, it's not prohibited. But you behaved disgracefully, you insulted Trump, and so on. Therefore, on a personal level, Trump holds a grudge against them,” he said.

On the other hand, the United States makes economic claims. “He [Donald Trump] says: 'Guys, you sell here this, this, and this, you sell everything, but you don't let our goods in.' There is a certain reasoning there. And in order to balance trade, he gradually introduces tariffs, taxes at the border. This is an economic agenda,” the president explained.

Trump has a certain vision for the military sphere as well. “He says: 'Guys, I will not spend as much as before, I will not send my boys [Americans] to NATO. And if in five years a war starts with Russia and Belarus, ours will die. I don't want that. I'll take ours back.' So, there is a problem in the military sense. And Donald Trump's position is reasonable,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.

In this regard, the Belarusian president emphasized: “They [the European Union] should not engage in propaganda, but think about what I said. If America and Russia come to terms, they will be screwed, they will be finished, as they say in Russia and Belarus.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko advised the European Union to come to their senses and pay attention to another point that the president made more than once, including in a recent interview with American blogger Mario Nawfal: “I said that the future of Europe is with Russia. The strongholds of our planet are the European Union, China, America, Russia, India, etc.”

“And if Europe is with Russia, as it was  before, no one will break this union. It will be the most powerful [union]. Russia is a nuclear power, other nuclear powers are France, England; the European Union is a technological powerhouse and Russia has a huge amount of resources.  Neither China nor the United States will be able to compete. This is not in the interests of the Americans, they want to be the world's only superpower. This is clear now. They will not allow Europe to get ahead, they will strangle it, as they see it as a competitor. And if Europe and Russia band together, the Americans will be done for. They understand this,” the Belarusian leader said.

Summing up what he said, the head of state advised the European Union to engage in a dialogue and embark on negotiations.
