MINSK, 17 April (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko outlined key tasks for newly appointed Assistant to the President - Inspector for Grodno Oblast Konstantin Burak as he unveiled new appointments on 17 April, BelTA has learned.
The head of state emphasized the region’s role in ensuring country’s security. " Grodno Oblast residents are strong, good people. The region’s economy is stable and robust. [Grodno Oblast Governor] Yuri Karayev is a diligent man and a good manager. I don’t want you to have conflicts. But I very much hope that you will have your own opinion," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
The president highlighted that assistants in the regions supervise personnel policies and have inspectorial powers. Figuratively speaking, assistants are the "eyes and ears" of the president, Aleksandr Lukashenko noted. Additionally, assistants must directly interact with the head of the President Administration and be able to discuss pressing issues with the president to outline further actions when necessary.
Addressing Konstantin Burak, the president said: "You have sufficient experience. I once wanted you to work in the government [previously, Konstantin Burak held the post of the head of the Council of Ministers Office of Belarus]. You know what needs to be done in the region."
