Lukashenko congratulates Ukrainian people on Independence Day

MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko sent greetings to the people of Ukraine as they celebrate Independence Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Living side by side in peace and harmony has long been the destiny of the Belarusian and Ukrainian peoples. Close coexistence has forged inseparable blood ties between our peoples, cemented by a shared history, common Christian values, and sincere friendship,” the message of congratulations reads. 

“No matter how external forces try to pull us in different directions, Belarus will remain open to Ukrainians,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed. “We are committed to mutually beneficial cooperation and constructive dialogue with our southern neighbors.”

“From the bottom of my heart, I wish to find your own answer to today’s challenges to the citizens of Ukraine and peaceful skies, solidarity, and truly independent development to your multinational country,” the head of state emphasized.
