MINSK, 16 January (BelTA) - All neighborhoods need to be spruced up to look nice, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he talked with representatives of labor collectives of the Minsk City Technopark about the goals of the landscaping efforts on 16 January, BelTA learned.
The head of state drew the attention of officials to possible construction opportunities in and near Minsk as there are a lot of unused plots of land “behind the ring road, along the ring road. There are a lot of such land parcels of one and a half to two hectares. We need to do it smartly,” he said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko urged to bring engineering networks closer to such land parcles, make roads and divide them into plots. “People will be happy to buy. It's within the Minsk city limits,” the president said.
In this regard, he gave a number of specific instructions regarding the improvement of the country. “Often things are nice and tidy in the center, and not so much outside of it… We must make things beautiful everywhere. This is the point of landscaping efforts. Everywhere. In rural communities, everywhere around us,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
As BelTA reported, this year has been declared the Year of Improvement in Belarus.
