Lukashenko calls on Germany to take in refugees from Belarus-Poland border

GRODNO DISTRICT, 26 November (BelTA) – I am calling upon the people of Germany to give shelter to the refugees from the Belarusian-Polish border, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with refugees at the logistics center near the Bruzgi checkpoint on the Belarusian-Polish border on 26 November, BelTA has learned.

“I would like to address the people of Germany: most people here are the ones who want to reunite with their families, find their loved ones who live in Germany. Please take these people in. This number is not very big. They want to live in Germany. Two thousand people is not a big problem for Germany. Chancellor Merkel agreed with it,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.

The president added that Poland was blocking the resolution of the situation.
