Lukashenko calls for improvements in unmanned aviation

MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko urged to secure development of the unmanned aviation as he spoke at a large meeting with the senior staff of the national security agencies in Minsk on 20 February, BelTA has learned.

According to the head of state, the situation in Ukraine should be considered as a lesson: “The Ukrainian scenario, when uncontrolled weapons are in the hands of the population, is not for us, it is unacceptable. We should look at the situation in Ukraine as a lesson, constantly improving the training of artillerymen, refining methods of counter-battery warfare, and modernizing electronic reconnaissance equipment.”

“Let us be honest: we are lagging behind in terms of unmanned aviation, kamikaze drones, large-scale equipping of the army. We should have done it long ago. Therefore, we need to make up for lost time. This is true not only for the Defense Ministry, but also for the Internal Affairs Ministry and the State Border Committee. The Security Council should take this issue under control and continue to check the quality of training of personnel of law enforcement agencies this year,” the president said.
