MINSK, 9 February (BelTA) - The press service of the Belarusian leader presented a new official website of the President of the Republic of Belarus on 9 February. It was developed by domestic IT-specialists, BelTA has learned.
The latest international experience, the best domestic practices and technical solutions in web design were used to update the website.
The structure of the website has been fundamentally redesigned. It features new pages and sections. The navigation through the renewed website is convenient and clear. The search engine has also been improved and greatly expanded for the convenience of website users.
The website is adapted for different devices, particularly for smartphones and tablets. For easy access users have the opportunity to download the icon on the website and subsequently visit the website with just one click. The new version of the website also supports the advanced technology of progressive web app (PWA) which ensures secure and fast access to the website.
The website is available in three languages: Russian, Belarusian, and English. A version for visually impaired users is also available.
The website provides information about the current activities of the President of the Republic of Belarus. A weekly schedule of the head of state is available on the main page. As before, the presidential website will contain the most important legal acts adopted by the head of state.
The new website features a truly unique archive of the most important events from the working schedule of the head of state since 1994. Many of the materials have not been published before. Of particular interest are archival photos and videos of Aleksandr Lukashenko's years in office. They demonstrate the development of sovereign Belarus, the path the country has taken over the years of independence.
Another important upgrade is the possibility for live broadcasts of the most important events with the participation of the head of state.
In general, the website has a special emphasis on the multimedia component. It is photos and video, as the analysis of requests from the Internet audience shows, that are of the highest interest. Now multimedia content on the website of the Belarusian president is available in bigger volumes and, most importantly, in good quality. For example, media representatives will be able to download high resolution photos and the official portrait of the head of state, as well as photos from the most important events in the special new section “Photos for the press”. They may be used without the consent of the press service of the President of the Republic of Belarus.
The President Off Duty section is one of the most interesting sections of the new website. It contains the most exclusive materials. Users of this section will be able to learn more about the life of the Belarusian leader beyond the strict protocols. The section contains materials about the president, his family and his native land, other information ranging from sport hobbies and household chores to informal events the president took part in.
Another highlight of the website is a virtual tour of the Palace of Independence. From the comfort of their homes the website visitors will have a unique opportunity to get into the president's residence and see the halls where numerous international events and meetings are held, topical issues are discussed and the most important decisions of the domestic agenda are taken.
The Belarus section has become much more comprehensive. It is designed first of all for foreign users, who will have an opportunity to obtain information about the country on a wide range of topics. The section contains up-to-date information on social, economic and regional development, science, tourism, the current year's issues and much more.
The Letter to the President section, through which everyone can send their appeals and suggestions to the head of state, will retain its position on the website as a feedback to the citizens.
The website developers also kept the little citizens of the country in mind. The The President for Children section contains cognitive adapted information about the state system, symbols, the Constitution, the history of Belarus and children's rights. Here the young users will also learn how to become a president.
It should be noted that no budgetary funds were used to develop the new website. The works were carried out at the expense of the Hi-Tech Park.
