Belarus plans to increase preferential lending to encourage domestic purchases

ORSHA, 29 May (BelTA) - Belarus plans to extend the preferential lending program to encourage domestic purchases, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he talked to the employees of the Legmash plant in Orsha, BelTA has learned.

It is expected that the list of enterprises and products that can be purchased on such terms will be extended.

"We will continue this practice," the head of state replied. "I think by the end of the year we will increase these subsidies, loans so that you buy what is produced in Belarus."

Moreover, it is planned to expand the number of enterprises whose products can be purchased on such lending terms:  from 120 to 140-150. It is possible that the interest rate on this type of lending will be also decreased slightly.

The government was instructed to submit relevant proposals for consideration of the head of state. The president stressed that the state lends a shoulder to citizens in many issues in Belarus. For example, people are entitled to preferential lending to purchase housing, and this is significant support.
