The How it Was project kicked off on BelTA’s YouTube channel on 15 April. The format of the project is a journey into history that comes alive through archival photos, videos, and interviews.
The first episode of the project takes viewers back to 1996. This is the year when the confrontation between the president and Parliament led to a political crisis in the country. It was then that many fateful decisions were made and the situation was eventually resolved. This is the year when the first ever Belarusian People’s Assembly was held, the first free economic zone was created, and the first Dazhynki festival was organized.
