SOLIGORSK, 13 October (BelTA) – The military recruiting events in Belarus have an absolutely routine nature, State Secretary of the Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich said at a briefing on ongoing military and political developments in Belarus and abroad for employees of the Belarusian potash producer Belaruskali on 13 October, BelTA has learned.

Upon the instruction of the head of state, representatives of law enforcement, security agencies and the military meet with labor collectives throughout the country.

Talking to the Belaruskali team, Aleksandr Volfovich said that Belarus is not planning any mobilization. “All the military recruiting activities are absolutely routine. Now we are launching a routine autumn conscription campaign. Therefore, there is no need to panic. Send your children there so that they develop a strong spirit and mature, gain experience, become more independent. The army that we have today is small, compact. It is one of the smallest ones in the post-Soviet space in terms of personnel numbers. It is designed to localize those military threats, risks, challenges coming from our neighbors, unfortunately,” he stressed.
