MINSK, 11 September (BelTA) – It is important to return the relations between Slovakia and Belarus to a path of constructive cooperation, BelTA learned from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovakia to Belarus Jozef Migaš before the ceremony of presenting credentials to the Belarusian head of state.
The ambassador noted that he had previously headed the diplomatic mission of Slovakia in Belarus as well: “I already presented my credentials and worked in your country back in 2016. The situation was better then, while now the situation in Europe and the world is difficult.”

“I have returned here on a mission as ambassador and I want to do everything to make relations between Slovakia, the European Union and Belarus better, much better, so that they would be based on pragmatism, partnership, cooperation, and friendship,” the diplomat emphasized.
“The current situation does not really suit either the Belarusian side or the Slovak one,” Jozef Migaš continued. “I believe that we need to do everything to improve it, and this is the purpose of my arrival. I will try to take such steps in Slovak-Belarusian relations so that we gradually return to a time of strong trade and a solid legal framework. I will spare no effort to make this happen.”
