MINSK, 24 October (BelTA) – Belarus and China have reached a very high level of political trust, Chairman of the House of Representatives of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko said during a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Zhang Wenchuan in Minsk on 24 October, BelTA has learned.
"You have recently arrived in Belarus, but, probably, already felt that our people have a high regard for your country and for the Chinese people," Igor Sergeyenko said.
He noted that on 1 October China celebrated the 75th anniversary of its founding. "During this period, China has turned into a powerful industrial powerhouse with a highly developed agriculture, science and culture. I know about the successes of your country from personal experience, as I have visited different regions of China many times and saw it with my own eyes," he emphasized.
"Your country pursues an independent balanced foreign policy aimed at strengthening cooperation with many countries. We highly value our friendship with the People's Republic of China. Thanks to the leaders of our states, Belarus and China have reached a very high level of political trust," Igor Sergeyenko added.
