MINSK, 1 October (BelTA) – It is a privilege to work in a country that has a long history of friendship with Serbia, the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of Belarus Ilina Vukajlović said as she presented credentials to Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 1 October, BelTA has learned.
“I think you will feel comfortable in Belarus,” the Belarusian head of state said greeting the diplomat.
“Thank you very much. I already do. It is a great honor for me to convey to you the warmest greetings from our President Mr. Aleksandar Vučić. Indeed, it is a privilege to work in such a friendly country,” said Ilina Vukajlović.
She also noted that the two countries are preparing to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations in November this year. Belarus and Serbia are committed to working together in the best interests of their peoples.
“When your tenure ends, do not rush home. You can live and work here,” the Belarusian leader said.
A reminder, during the ceremony the president noted that Belarus has a long history of friendly relations with Serbia. These relations are rooted in history and spiritual ties between the two fraternal peoples. The head of state emphasized his interest in intensifying Belarus-Serbia cooperation across the board. Belarus would like to expand contacts, scale up mutually beneficial cooperation in industry, agriculture, healthcare, and high technology.
