MINSK, 27 September (BelTA) - Western politicians are blinded by personal ambitions, and behind these ambitions, they fail to see ordinary people, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov said as he addressed the plenary meeting of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York on 27 September, BelTA has learned.
Maxim Ryzhenkov noted that the Belarusian people have been living in peace for 80 years. “And if we look at our history, this is an incredibly long time,” he said.

“Never have Belarusians lived so well, under a peaceful sky as in the last 30 years, when under the leadership of our president we have successfully built a socially oriented state. While sacredly preserving the memory of the terrible tragedy of the Second World War and passing this memory to young generations. Why do many others around us, especially to the west of our border, not want to live like this? The answer is simple: politicians there are blinded by personal ambitions. Behind these ambitions, they do not see the ordinary people even in their own countries. And thus, it is not surprising that they treat human life of other nations with neglect, urging Ukraine to fight practically until the last Ukrainian,” the minister said.
