Putin-Trump meeting extends beyond two hours

MINSK, 16 August (BelTA) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump have been in talks for over two hours at Elmendorf-Richardson military base in Alaska, TASS informs.
The discussions are being held in a “three-on-three” format, but the two presidents began their dialogue earlier on the tarmac after arriving in Alaska. Putin and Trump exited their planes almost simultaneously and entered the U.S. leader’s Cadillac, where they held a one-on-one conversation en route to the negotiations.

Following this, Putin and Trump are expected to continue talks over a “working breakfast”. The expanded discussions, involving delegations from both sides, will follow a “five-on-five” format. Later, the Russian and U.S. presidents will hold a joint press conference to summarize the outcomes of the talks. As previously noted by the Kremlin, no formal document is expected to be signed following the leaders' discussions.

The Russian president arrived in Alaska on 15 August at around 22:00 Minsk time (11:00 local time). Trump personally greeted Putin on the tarmac. The welcoming ceremony began at 22:10 Minsk time, with official negotiations involving delegation members starting 15 minutes later.
