ST. PETERSBURG, 22 December (BelTA) – Close operational contacts have been established among the security agencies and competent bodies of the CIS, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at an informal meeting of CIS heads of state in St. Petersburg on 22 December, BelTA has learned.

"An important area of focus for the CIS states has been and remains the fight against terrorism, extremism, organized crime, illicit drug trafficking, and corruption. For these purposes, close operational contacts have been established among the security agencies and competent bodies," Vladimir Putin said.
The Russian leader noted that specific documents have been adopted in this area. "We are implementing a roadmap to counter terrorism until 2028 and a plan to protect the external borders of CIS countries until 2030," he emphasized.
