Mirziyoyev lauds Uzbekistan-Belarus inter-parliamentary cooperation

MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) - President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan held a meeting with Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova, BelTA learned from the official website of the president of Uzbekistan.

Natalya Kochanova is on a visit to Uzbekistan to take part in the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. On behalf of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, the head of the Belarusian delegation extended sincere greetings and best wishes to Uzbekistan’s leader. The meeting focused on further enhancing Uzbekistan-Belarus relations.

"The parties praised the momentum in trade, successful implementation of industrial and agricultural cooperation projects, productive cooperation between regions and active exchanges in culture, education and healthcare," the statement reads.

The parties pointed out the importance to continue an intensive inter-parliamentary dialogue, including ensuring parliamentary oversight and promoting the timely execution of high-level agreements.
