MOSCOW, 24 June (BelTA) – A joint offsite session of the heads and members of national delegations to the CSTO Interstate Commission for Military and Economic Cooperation and the Business Council under the CSTO Interstate Commission for Military and Economic Cooperation took place in Minsk on 24 June. The session was held as part of the business program of the 10th international defense technology expo MILEX. Representatives of the Military-Industrial Commission of Russia took part in the session, BelTA has learned.
During the session CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov underlined the importance of the practical measures, which are worked out during such sessions in order to realize the program on military economic cooperation of the CSTO member states, which the CSTO Collective Security Council passed in 2016. Valery Semerikov identified a number of tasks as part of preparations for the next session of the CSTO Interstate Commission for Military and Economic Cooperation. The next session will take place in Minsk in early September.
Participants of the session also discussed the development of military economic cooperation of the CSTO member states. They discussed possible ways of improving manufacturing cooperation of defense industry enterprises of the CSTO member states in production, repair, and modernization of military products.
A session of the coordinating council of authorized bodies of the CSTO member states in matters of advertising and exhibition activities will take place on 25 June as part of MILEX 2021. Proposals to amend the list of international expos, which are organized in 2021-2022 and which can be used to showcase military products, dual-use products, special products and technologies of the CSTO member states, will be discussed. Matters concerning preparations for arranging international weapon salons in the CSTO member states in July 2021 – May 2022 will be discussed as well as the planning of the Collective Security Treaty Organization's business program for these events in 2022. The possibility of allowing organizers of national expositions of the CSTO member states to participate in these expos on preferential terms will be discussed as well.
