MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – As a result of the efforts of the Embassy of Belarus in Syria and the consular service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, including the consuls currently in Beirut, another group of Belarusian citizens have been evacuated from Damascus, BelTA learned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
Twenty-two people who worked in Syria under contracts to service the Tishrin Thermal Power Plant safely left the country and are already moving home through the territory of the Union State.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus is grateful to everyone, including foreign partners and the honorary consul of Belarus in Lebanon, who provided assistance in this difficult matter.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus will continue to provide assistance, if necessary, to Belarusian citizens who, for one reason or another, found themselves in the areas with difficult military and political conditions.
