Lavrov extends Diplomatic Workers' Day greetings to Belarusian diplomats

MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) - Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation on 22 January, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the substantive conversation, the parties exchanged the views on key aspects of bilateral cooperation and current international agenda.

The Russian foreign minister conveyed congratulations to the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus on the Diplomatic Workers' Day.


In a subsequent congratulatory telegram, Sergey Lavrov also noted: “In the turbulent global military-political situation, at a time of unprecedented pressure from the collective West, Belarusian diplomacy demonstrates high professionalism, patriotism, and steadfastness in defending national interests, loyalty to official duty, and allied commitments.”

According to him, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its diplomatic missions abroad are successfully tackling the ambitious tasks of strengthening their positions in countries of the Global South and East and also in various integration associations, and promoting key international initiatives, particularly the development of the Eurasian Charter for Diversity and Multipolarity in the 21st Century and countering Western sanctions and legal aggression.

The head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the importance of close coordination and genuinely comradely interaction between the diplomatic services of the two countries, a united position on pressing international agenda issues, and mutual support in multilateral forums.
