FM reaffirms Belarus’ commitment to multipolar world, indivisible security

MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) - Belarus actively advocates for a multipolar world, indivisible security, and promotes concrete initiatives, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov said as he opened the exhibition of geographical maps titled “Belarus on the Map: Journey to the Unified Land" at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The exhibition is dedicated to the Day of People’s Unity on 17 September, BelTA has learned.

“Through these maps, one can trace the long journey of our country. This project was implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Belarusian Geographical Society, with active support from the General Prosecutor's Office, the State Property Committee, the National Cadastre Agency, and Belkartography enterprise,” Maxim Ryzhenkov said. “I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our partners and everyone who has contributed their effort and put their heart into this exhibition. A special thanks goes to the Belarusian Geographical Society and personally to its chairman, Aleksei Yarotov, for this wonderful initiative.”

The minister, recalling the tragic chapters of Belarusian history, including two world wars and the period of Polish occupation in the 1920s–1930s, highlighted the significance of this exhibition. Each map not only depicts territorial outlines but also encapsulates the history of the Belarusian people and the state. The modern Republic of Belarus, as an independent state, is a relatively young presence on the world map. It is just over thirty years old. Yet it has already confidently established itself on the international stage.
