MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – The total number of foreign observers who will monitor the elections to the House of Representatives due on 11 September has increased to 303, reads a statement posted on the website of the Belarusian Central Election Commission, BelTA has learned.
The CEC has accredited 243 observers from the CIS (including 8 from the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly), 51 from the OSCE/ODIHR, 7 from PACE and 2 from the OSCE PA.
As regards domestic observers, as many as 4,162 domestic observers have been accredited so far.
Elections to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus are scheduled for 11 September. The exact number of the candidates registered by the district election commissions will be known after 11 August.
