Cooperation in CIS identified as priority of Belarus’ foreign policy

MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov met with Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Sergei Lebedev on 26 August, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

Maksim Ryzhenkov and Sergei Lebedev discussed matters relating to preparations for sessions of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council, the Heads of Government Council, and the Heads of State Council, which are due in H2 2024.

Maksim Ryzhenkov confirmed that cooperation within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States is a priority vector of Belarus’ foreign policy. He emphasized interest in all-round expansion of interaction in political affairs, economic affairs, culture, and humanitarian affairs as well as in security enforcement.
