MINSK, 27 December (BelTA) – Representatives of the CIS observation mission have checked the formation of precinct election commissions in Minsk in the run-up to the presidential election in Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.
In particular, the long-term observers attended meetings of the administrations of Oktyabrsky District, Leninsky District and Partizansky District of the capital city, at which members of precinct commissions of each polling station were approved. The meetings were also attended by representatives of political parties, public associations, labor collectives that nominated their representatives to precinct commissions.
To date, the CIS observation mission submitted about 100 applications to the Central Election Commission to accredit its observers. These are representatives of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan, the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, the Union State Parliamentary Assembly, and the CIS Executive Committee.
In total, about 200 members of the CIS observation mission are planned to be accredited.
