CIS head: Agenda of CIS summit is packed

MINSK, 28 May (BelTA) – This session of the CIS Heads of Government Council is special because it is held in person, Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee – CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev noted at the meeting between Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko with heads of the delegations to the CIS Heads of Government Council session on 28 May, BelTA has learned.

There are many issues to be discussed, Sergei Lebedev stressed.

“This session is special for many reasons. This is our first face-to-face meeting this year, which is great,” Sergei Lebedev noted. On 27 May, the heads of the delegations met and discussed various topics in an informal setting.

“Such informal face-to-face meetings help address problems,” Sergei Lebedev believes.

In 2021, Belarus presides in the CIS. After the meeting with the Belarusian head of state, the CIS Heads of Government Council will proceed with its session. Its program includes one-on-one and delegations-level meetings, with 11 issues on the agenda.
