MOSCOW, 25 November (BelTA) – Today, we took stock of the substantial work accomplished jointly this year, related both to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, Belarus's chairmanship in the bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union, and the progressive increase in efforts to create a solid sustainable architecture of Eurasian security,” Belarusian Foreign Affairs Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov told the media after a joint meeting of the collegiums of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Russia held in Moscow on 25 November, BelTA has learned.
According to Maxim Ryzhenkov, particular, close attention was paid to the integration processes within the Union State, the economic track, and interregional cooperation.
“Without illusions, we discussed in detail the current geopolitical situation in the Eastern European region, Greater Eurasia, and the world as a whole,” the minister continued. “We examined in detail the key challenges on the western borders of the Union State and the prospects for settling the Ukrainian crisis, taking into account the new initiatives from the United States.”
At the invitation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov visited Moscow on 25 November for a working visit to participate in the annual joint meeting of the collegiums of the Russian and Belarusian foreign ministries. Such meetings have been held annually since 2000, alternating between Belarus and Russia, and serve as an effective mechanism for synchronizing the two countries' efforts on the international stage. The parties took stock of the interim results of implementing the decisions of the previous meeting and the program of concerted actions in foreign policy of the states party to the Union State Treaty for 2024-2026.
