MINSK, 29 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Syria have a great potential for strengthening political interaction, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov said during his talks with Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Bassam Sabbagh who is on a working visit to Belarus, BelTA has learned.
In September, the parties met on the margins of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York and discussed the development of bilateral relations. Maksim Ryzhenkov thanked Bassam Sabbagh for visiting Belarus. The Syrian minister is expected to participate in the 2nd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security.

"We have gathered today to address issues of mutual interest, including those of bilateral relations and on the international agenda. We have established quite close relations, but there is still a great potential for strengthening political interaction, cooperation between Ministries of Foreign Affairs and business communities," Maksim Ryzhenkov said.
