Belarusian ambassador presents credentials to Uzbekistan’s president

MINSK, 6 March (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Uzbekistan Aleksandr Ogorodnikov presented his credentials to Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 6 March, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The president of Uzbekistan congratulated the ambassador of Belarus on assuming the office and wished him every success. In his words, bilateral cooperation has reached a qualitatively new level in recent years, including the agreements reached during the official visit of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Uzbekistan in February 2024.

The parties exchanged views on the further development of political, trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation, dwelt on the promising areas of further expansion of interaction between the two countries, and also on the important bilateral events scheduled for 2025.

The parties emphasized the importance of building up cooperation in agriculture, electrical engineering, light industry, construction, housing and utilities services. The focus was also placed on the development of interregional ties, strengthening cooperation in education and healthcare.
