MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) - At the instruction of the head of state, Belarusian Ambassador to Switzerland Aleksandr Ganevich participated in a ceremony to deposit the Peace Board Charter with the U.S. Government as depositary on 22 January, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
The event took place on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that with the signing of the document U.S. President Donald Trump gave aт official start to the formation of a new international structure. This structure has the potential to become an additional effective instrument for settling international conflicts and disputes in various regions of the world.
“Being a founding member of the Board of Peace, Belarus is prepared to take an active role in shaping a new architecture of global and regional security based on the principles of mutual respect and the unconditional consideration of the national interests of the member states of this association. The Belarusian side sincerely supports any diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving peace and harmony through dialogue, ensuring progressive and sustainable economic development, and fostering mutually beneficial cooperation,” the Belarusian MFA said.
