Belarus, Türkiye discuss inter-parliamentary cooperation

MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yuri Ambrazevich held a meeting with Selman Eser, Chairperson of the Working Group of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye on Cooperation with the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, in Ankara as part of his visit to Türkiye, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Yuri Ambrazevich informed the Turkish MP on the results of the parliamentary election campaign held in Belarus in February 2024. He emphasized that the elections were held in full compliance with the national legislation, showed fair competition, ensuring the free expression of will of citizens and international observation.

The Turkish MP congratulated Belarus on the successful parliamentary elections and the formation of the most important component of the legislative power of the state. He expressed confidence in further close and fruitful inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to inter-parliamentary cooperation between Belarus and Türkiye both on the bilateral track and on the international platforms.

On the same day, Yuri Ambrazevich met with representatives of one of Türkiye’s leading think tanks - the AVIM Center for Eurasian Studies and took part in a round table organized by the center. The Belarusian diplomat discussed topical issues of the regional and global agenda with representatives of academicians and experts of Türkiye.
