MINSK, 9 September (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Dmitry Krutoi met with Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of Russia's Federal Assembly Yury Vorobyov on 8 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the talks the parties discussed Belarus-Russia cooperation prospects and integration processes within the Union State of Belarus and Russia. Dmitry Krutoi emphasized the special role of parliaments in legislative support of 28 Union State programs. More than 400 regulations and bilateral agreements are to be adopted in order to implement these programs.
The parties discussed preparations for the 10th edition of the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia to be held in Ufa in 2023. The Belarusian ambassador expressed confidence that Belarusian and Russian senators will make a significant contribution to expanding interregional cooperation and strengthening bilateral contacts.
