
MINSK, 16 September (BelTA) – Poland has officially notified the Republic of Belarus of the detention of a Belarusian citizen in Poland. The individual is suspected of flying a drone in a restricted flight zone and posing a threat to security and public order, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The Polish law enforcement agencies are carrying out the necessary procedural actions, and Belarus is certainly not interfering in their course. If the need arises, consular assistance will be provided to the Belarusian citizen detained in Poland,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
"The Belarusian side expects Poland to honestly fulfill its obligations to ensure the effective protection of the suspect's rights, including the right to a fair trial."
“We are considering this incident as an administrative and legal case,” the ministry noted.
