Belarus MFA sees regional organizations as proof of multipolar global landscape

MOSCOW, 28 March (BelTA) - The presence of such points of support as the CIS, EAEU, SCO and BRICS offsets the Western concept of a unipolar world, Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavel Utyupin said at the plenary session of the CIS International Economic Forum in Moscow on 28 March, BelTA learned.

“In the new system of geopolitical and economic realities, the interdependence and complementarity of the integration associations operating in the Eurasian space are becoming increasingly clear. Today is the time when we can talk about transregional cooperation in Eurasia. The presence of multiple points of support such as the CIS, EAEU, SCO, ASEAN and BRICS has already offset the concept of a unipolar world, which is still actively promoted by the collective West,” Pavel Utyupin said.

“The development of integration processes between these associations, which are independent and active players regionally and internationally, is gradually bringing the world to a multipolarity. The idea of integration of integrations - the initiative to align the integration potentials of various regional associations, such as the Union State, EAEU, CIS, SCO - is growing more relevant. With its accession to the SCO in July 2024, the Republic of Belarus is a full member of all these authoritative organizations,” Pavel Utyupin said.

He noted that in the conditions of a rapidly changing world, it is important for the CIS to effectively confront modern challenges and threats. “I believe that by promoting regional interaction the CIS will increase its visibility in the world. In this regard, we welcome the initiative to organize the first forum of CIS regions, which will be hosted by Tashkent in late April of this year,” Pavel Utyupin added.
