MINSK, 23 July (BelTA) - Following a meeting with Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova, Head of the Belarus-Iran parliamentary cooperation group at the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran Ali Asghar Bagherzadeh named the areas in which Belarus and Iran aim to intensify cooperation, BelTA has learned.
“We discussed a wide range of matters of politics, economy, science, and tourism,” he noted. “Our countries consistently support each other in international organizations. Belarus and Iran are like-minded partners on the global stage. The policy of our countries has always been to maintain independence and territorial integrity. The president of the Islamic Republic of Iran will soon visit Belarus. This will mark a turning point in Belarus-Iran relations and give new momentum to cooperation across various projects.”
According to him, Belarus and Iran are also interested in strengthening humanitarian cooperation. “Today we discussed humanitarian cooperation prospects, including student exchanges and joint research projects. We also talked about establishing direct air service between Iran and Belarus,” Ali Asghar Bagherzadeh stressed.
A solid contractual and legal framework has been established between our countries, which enables us to move forward, he emphasized. “We reaffirmed that we must stand together and support each other in shaping a new world order,” Ali Asghar Bagherzadeh added.
