Belarus calls to resolve migrant crisis through cooperation of all stakeholders

MINSK, 1 December (BelTA) - Belarus calls to resolve the migrant crisis through cooperation of all stakeholders rather than through the politicization of the problem, Permanent Representative of Belarus to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva Yuri Ambrazevich said at the 112th session of the Council of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

Yuri Ambrazevich welcomed the activities carried out by the IOM over seven decades with the view to promoting orderly, regular and safe migration in the world.

Belarus' UN ambassador dwelt on the situation with migrants on Belarus' borders with neighboring countries from the European Union. “In particular, Yuri Ambrazevich emphasized the need to resolve the migrant crisis through cooperation of all stakeholders rather than through the politicization of the problem, and expressed Belarus' readiness for such cooperation,” the diplomatic mission said.

The Permanent Representative of Belarus welcomed the active involvement by the International Organization for Migration in an effort to resolve the crisis.
