Belarus' ambassador visits Turkey's south region to discuss trade, culture

MINSK, 22 February (BelTA) – Ambassador of Belarus to Turkey Viktor Rybak has visited Antalya and Alanya together with Belarus' honorary consuls in these cities Lacin Mirza and Fatih Akin, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Turkey.

They held talks with Antalya Governor Ersin Yazici, Alanya Mayor Adem Murat Yucel, top executives of the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Alanya Chamber of Agriculture and the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association of Turkey (MUSIAD). They discussed cooperation prospects in trade, economy and investment as well as humanitarian contacts between the southern region of Turkey and Belarus.

The head of the diplomatic mission put forward proposals of Belarusian businesses interested in supplying their products to Turkey and forging contacts with Turkish business people. The Turkish side showed a great interest in Belarus' knowhow in the field of organic fertilizers.

In addition, the parties discussed the details of the East-West international music festival project in Alanya. A preliminary agreement was reached to expand the geography of the festival to include Antalya.

The head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission also met with Rector of Alanya HEP University Ali Ekrem Ozkul. The parties discussed the possibilities of mutually beneficial academic cooperation.
