Astana to host first Belarus-Kazakhstan agricultural forum in October

MINSK, 4 June (BelTA) - Astana is set to host the first Belarus-Kazakhstan agricultural forum in late October, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kazakhstan Aleksei Bogdanov said on the sidelines of the international exhibition Belagro 2025, BelTA has learned.

The diplomat stressed that a large business delegation from Kazakhstan arrived in Minsk to participate in the Belarusian agro-industrial week. Belarus and Kazakhstan plan to hold a series of meetings in ministries and agencies to discuss key areas of cooperation, including the supplies of food industry, dairy and meat products renowned worldwide. The ambassador emphasized the strong consumer loyalty toward products labeled “Made in Belarus”, which are highly popular.

"The Belagro exhibition has once again impressed with its scale. It is being held at a new venue, allowing us to showcase everything we can produce. Kazakhstan is interested in this," Ambassador Aleksei Bogdanov said.

He also highlighted the ongoing expansion of the  Belorusskie produkty No. 1 retail chain in Kazakhstan. "Belarus is present in grocery stores with meat and dairy products and recently began expanding into light industry goods. A small store has already opened, but we plan to grow further. Products manufactured in our country under the light industry concern's brand will be featured," the diplomat added.

“Belarusian linen and textile products are in high demand, and efforts are underway to further this sector. There is a lot of work to be done. In October, we plan to hold the first Belarus-Kazakhstan agricultural forum, which will provide a deeper introduction of our capabilities to Kazakhstan’s agricultural industry. We need to actively enter Kazakhstan’s market, showcase what we can offer, and present our newly developed competencies," the ambassador stated.

He emphasized that Kazakhstan is increasing its domestic production. Belarus and Kazakhstan should develop joint projects to produce high-demand products together. "We are working on this as well, conducting numerous negotiations across various sectors," he noted. Ambassador Aleksei Bogdanov also emphasized the diversification of supplied products, including the recent start of cheese exports from Vitebsk Oblast to Kazakhstan.
