MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) – China and Belarus, being all-weather and all-round strategic partners, provide each other with mutual political support and demonstrate a high level of coordination in their actions, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus Zhang Wenchuan said during a press briefing on 27 March, BelTA has learned.
When asked whether the Western sanctions pressure on Belarus and China affected the cooperation between the two nations, the ambassador said: “China consistently opposes illegal unilateral sanctions and 'long-arm jurisdiction,' which lack a basis in international law and are not authorized by the UN Security Council. China firmly supports the right of countries to defend their legitimate interests, preserve justice and openness in the international system and promote inclusive and coordinated global development."
