TEHRAN, 11 February (BelTA - IRNA) - Iranians from all walks of life
have taken to the streets in cities, towns, and villages across the
country to celebrate the 47th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic
Revolution.
The celebrations officially began at 9:30 am local time on Wednesday, with people carrying the flags of the Islamic Republic of Iran in support of the government amid foreign conspiracies.
February 11 marks the last day of the Ten-Day Dawn, which led to the victory of the Islamic Revolution and toppled the former Shah of Iran in 1979.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will deliver the keynote address at this year’s Bahman 22nd ceremony in Tehran’s Azadi Square, which will be covered by domestic and foreign journalists.
The event will be held in more than 1,400 districts, cities, and counties, as well as in over 40,000 villages across the country. This year’s march routes have been adorned with images of martyrs, particularly those of the 12-day war and the recent unrest.
The rallies in Tehran will be held with Azadi Square as their destination, with 13 routes designated and announced for the ceremony.
