Galatasaray overpower Bodo/Glimt 3-1 in UEFA Champions League clash

ISTANBUL, 23 October (BelTA - Anadolu) - Galatasaray claimed an impressive 3-1 victory over Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in a thrilling UEFA Champions League fixture Wednesday.

The home team started the game with high intensity and took the lead early on at Rams Park in the matchday three clash. Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen opened the scoring in the third minute after Galatasaray applied heavy pressure from the kick-off.

Maintaining their dominance, the Istanbul club continued to threaten with consecutive shots and dangerous attacks. Their persistent play paid off again in the 33rd minute. Following a mistake by Bodo/Glimt defender Fredrik Andre Bjorkan, whose misplaced back pass was intercepted, Osimhen doubled the lead with his second goal of the night. The first half ended 2-0 in favor of the home side.

The second half began at a lively pace, with the Norwegian visitors creating more opportunities compared to the opening period. In the 60th minute, Osimhen’s pressing forced a turnover from defender Haitam Aleesami, leading to a quick counterattack that saw Yunus Akgun slot home to make it 3-0.

Bodo/Glimt responded in the 76th minute, when Helmersen scored to reduce the deficit to 3-1. Despite late pressure from the visitors, Galatasaray held firm to secure the win.

With the result, Galatasaray reached six points in the UEFA Champions League after three matches, while Bodo/Glimt remained on two points.
