BEIJING, 5 December (BelTA - China Daily) - Chinese medical researchers have developed a minimally invasive surgical glove designed to reduce hand fatigue and maintain tactile sensitivity for surgeons performing long procedures.

The glove was unveiled Thursday at a launch ceremony hosted by Beijing Chemical Industry Group and Beijing Reagent Latex Products.

The development was led by Guo Chao, deputy director of the department of thoracic surgery at Peking Union Medical College Hospital. "Our goal is to prioritize the surgeon's tactile experience, ensuring that the glove no longer impedes operation and becomes a natural extension of precise touch," he said.

Sun Cuina, general manager of Beijing Reagent Latex Products, said the domestic market for minimally invasive surgical gloves has relied heavily on imports, which are not fully compatible with the hand shape of many Asian surgeons and can be uncomfortable during extended surgeries.

She said the new glove offers an optimal balance of high elasticity and strength, improved tactile sensitivity, and effective dispersion of pressure to reduce hand fatigue. Clinical testing has shown that it can meet the highest demands for precision in minimally invasive procedures and outperform existing products in key performance indicators.
