MINSK, 11 June (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich, who is currently on a visit to Lebanon, shared his thoughts of cooperation prospects with Lebanon as he talked to the media, BelTA has learned.
“There are several promising areas for cooperation. These include the transfer of expertise in crop cultivation and the supply of farming machinery, which would increase the efficiency of agricultural production. These are also issues related to training personnel for agriculture in our educational institutions. In addition, there is potential for cooperation in industry, especially in mechanical engineering and the supply of utilities equipment and passenger transport. There is an opportunity for further cooperation in in setting up joint ventures,” Viktor Karankevich said.
A government delegation led by Viktor Karankevich is currently on a visit to Lebanon. A wide range of issues is on the agenda. The parties are set to discuss ways and means of strengthening bilateral cooperation in a number of areas. There are mutual interests in industry, agriculture, construction, and infrastructure development, including logistics. The parties are expected to exchange views on international issues and coordinate their positions on parliamentary matters.
