
MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) - According to the SCO Secretariat, over the past two years trade between the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has increased by an average of 30% and is approaching $1 trillion. SCO Deputy Secretary General Ahmad Saidmurodzoda offered the main economic indicators during the online panel session “Dialogue of Interstate Associations: Convergence of Economic Potentials and Deepening Trade and Economic Cooperation”, BelTA has learned.
“The economies of the SCO member states feature progressive, sustainable development. It is noteworthy that the dynamics of these indicators in the SCO exceeds global ones,” the SCO deputy secretary general said. “At the moment, the SCO accounts for over 15% of world trade, and this indicator continues to grow.”
The 4th edition of the Eurasian Economic Forum is taking place at the Minsk International Exhibition Center on 26-27 June. More than 2,700 participants have registered to take part in offline and online events. The forum will feature about 290 speakers and discussion participants. It is expected that the event will cover the entire current agenda of the Eurasian Economic Union and provide a comprehensive discussion of the EAEU prospects both at the level of government bodies and also together with experts, the academic community, and business representatives.
