MINSK, 23 August (BelTA) – A Swiss sub-park might be set up at the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone, Belarus First Deputy Premier Aleksandr Turchin said as he met with representatives of the Swiss business community in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Turchin had recently been on a working trip to Switzerland. The visit of the Swiss delegation to Belarus is also part of the efforts to bring the Swiss business to Belarus. On 22 August, Hermann Alexander Beyeler, President of Ceres Group Holding AG, Managing Board Chair of Buss Industrial Park visited the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone. “I know that a fruitful meeting was held at the Great Stone yesterday. Maybe, taking into consideration your experience in this field we should consider implementing a joint project to build a Swiss sub-park in the territory of the Great Stone,” the first deputy premier said.
Hermann Alexander Beyeler answered that it would be an honor for him to take part in this project. In his words, the Buss Industrial Park occupies an area of 8.5km2 while the area under the Great Stone is 112.5km2. The Swiss businessman noted that he was impressed by the scale of the project and is overall interested in cooperation with Belarus.
There are plans to scale up cooperation in the banking and finance sector. Work is underway to arrange the visit of a Belarusian delegation to Switzerland for talks with representatives of banks and companies.
