Sergei Menyailo thanked for the warm welcome and noted that this is the first working visit to Belarus. The delegation plans to see more of the country and learn more about some sectors of the economy. The guests were shown the production lines of all classes of automobiles, including passenger vehicles.
“We have discussed a number of issues beforehand,” Sergei Menyailo said. “First we will look at the opportunities , work out proposals for mutually beneficial cooperation. Then we will invite a delegation to our republic. There is interest both from us and from our Belarusian partners. The most important thing now is to turn this into practical, step-by-step cooperation in all areas, including tourism, agriculture, engineering, education, and cultural exchange.
In turn, Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Shlychkov recalled that last autumn Vladikavkaz hosted the first meeting of the working group on the development of cooperation in trade, economy, science, technology and culture between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania. It resulted in the signing of the action plan until 2026. Apart from cooperation in the real sector of the economy, Belarus is interested in the region's experience in education, healthcare, and tourism services.
“Farmers use the technologies of higher technological paradigm. The region is at the cutting edge of science,” Sergei Shlychkov said.
The Republic of North Ossetia - Alania is a promising market for us, said Valery Ivankovich, General Director of Minsk Automobile Plant, the managing company of Belavtomaz Group. “For us today's visit is very interesting. We met for the first time at such a high level. We showed our assembly line, the entire line-up: cargo, passenger and municipal vehicles that we produce,” he said.
The delegation of the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania is visiting Belarus on 11-14 February. The delegation is also set to tour the machine-building enterprises such as MTZ, BelAZ, Amkodor.
